Lavender Lemonade

This refreshing take on lemonade adds a floral note to a classic summer drink. And to rev it up into a boozy cocktail version, add an ounce of gin to your glass before pouring the lemonade.

Serves: 5
Time: 15 minutes plus time to cool

  • 4 cups water, divided
  • ½ cup honey or sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4 to 6 lemons)
  • Ice
  • Lemon slices and lavender sprigs for garnish

In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a simmer. Add honey (or sugar) and lavender, stirring until dissolved. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain to remove lavender. Let the syrup cool.

In a pitcher, combine lavender syrup, fresh lemon juice and remaining 2 cups of water. Stir well. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and lavender sprigs.
